Member of the global mainframe architecture team responsible for evolving mainframe end-state architecture, data centre strategy and disaster recovery including hardware and software components.

Roles & Responsibilities

Undertook a technology selection assessment of a mainframe 3rd copy capability in both EMEA and US to meet “Interagency white paper” recommendations, brought about after 9/11. Produced comparative document and made recommendation for UK implementation.

Recommendation accepted and I revised DR strategy for a significant in scope US$ clearing mainframe application. Successfully project managed the $1.5M implementation my “3rd copy” plan within agreed timeline.

Pioneered Red Hat Linux on the mainframe using mainframe virtualisation capabilities with US partners. Deployed and implemented for remediation of mainframe FEPs.

Defined 2-year platform roadmap for mainframe and midrange in region. Consulted with stakeholders to reach mutually acceptable timelines and implemented.

Managed team engaged in vendor & service management, hardware & software planning, financial & contract analysis, productivity, asset management and innovation. Objective planning, appraisals, coaching and performance management.

Built an intranet website for the group to service our internal customers with static process information and active news pages.
